Profhilo

Hyaluronic acid bio-remodelling · BAP technique

The original 'injectable moisturiser' remains a top-searched skin treatment in Singapore and the UK.

Search interest: about 1,700 searches a month in Singapore for “profhilo” (Ahrefs, October 2026).

The verdict Established

One of the few injectables where 'natural' is built into the design.

Reviewed against the Aesthetics International standard. Category: Injectables.

Does Profhilo work?

Established. One of the few injectables where 'natural' is built into the design. Reasonable evidence for improved hydration, elasticity and fine lines over a few months; little evidence for lift or contour.

Verdict
Established Long clinical track record. Results depend on selection and technique more than on the device.
Evidence base
3 PubMed-indexed studies cited below, including randomised trials.
Suits
Crepey, dehydrated skin of the face, neck and hands; people wanting quality not shape; first-time injectable patients.

What it is

A high-concentration, stabilised hyaluronic acid injected at five points on each side of the face (the BAP technique), from which it spreads through the tissue. It is not a filler: it is designed to hydrate and improve skin quality rather than add shape.

How it works

Hybrid complexes of high- and low-molecular-weight HA release slowly, drawing water into the dermis and, in laboratory work, prompting fibroblasts and keratinocytes to behave more youthfully. Two sessions a month apart is the standard course, repeated roughly twice a year.

What the evidence says

Reasonable evidence for improved hydration, elasticity and fine lines over a few months; little evidence for lift or contour. Because it is HA, it can be dissolved if needed — a safety advantage over collagen stimulators.

Paraphrased from public discussion on TikTok, Instagram, Reddit and in the press. Not testimonials, and not about any one clinic. Reported in: thetweakmentsguide.com, thetweakmentsguide.com.

What the studies show

  1. RCT

In a triple-blind randomised trial, treatment reduced wrinkle and pore measurements, but dermal thickness did not improve beyond placebo and satisfaction was moderate.

Effects of Profhilo® Tissue Bioremodeling on Skin Texture and Perioral Wrinkles: A Randomized Controlled Triple-Blind Clinical Trial. — Aesthetic Plast Surg, 2026. PMID 41731228.

  2. cohort

Manufacturer post-marketing surveillance over nearly a decade reported a low rate of adverse events, mostly transient injection-site reactions.

Hyaluronic Acid Hybrid Cooperative Complexes Nearing 10 Years of Use: Update on Safety Assessment Based on Post-Marketing Surveillance Data. — J Cosmet Dermatol, 2025. PMID 40654100.

  3. review

A review of laboratory and clinical data described improvements in hydration and elasticity, noting that most clinical studies are small and often industry-linked.

Hybrid Cooperative Complexes of Low- and High-Molecular-Weight Hyaluronic Acid in Aesthetic Medicine. — Pharmaceuticals (Basel), 2025. PMID 41599673.

Risks

Bumps at the injection points for a day or two, bruising, rare swelling.

In Singapore

Registered and widely used in Singapore. Newer 'Profhilo Structura' targets superficial fat compartments and is a different product.

Questions

Is Profhilo a filler?
No. It spreads through tissue to hydrate and improve quality; it is not placed to shape.
How long does it last?
Benefits are usually described over four to six months, which is why courses are repeated.
Profhilo or skin boosters?
Similar family. Profhilo uses five points per side and spreads; conventional boosters use many micro-injections.
