What is the FSX Laser?

The FSX Laser is a skin protocol developed by Dr Sin Yong in Singapore, delivered with Thulium and erbium-glass laser (LCLR® protocol), and used for face, neck and eyelids, enlarged pores and roughness, post-acne redness and superficial scars and more.

Texture is not a filter problem. Pores, fine lines and roughness are structural, so the FSX protocol treats the structure — four calibrated passes in one session, from surface brightening to dermal remodelling.

Pass one brightens the surface with low-energy thulium. Pass two refines pores. Pass three delivers higher-fluence subdermal heating to stimulate fibroblast activity and new collagen over the following weeks. Pass four is a refinement sweep.

Energy is calibrated by Dr Sin Yong during the session rather than set once. The protocol is suited to a wide range of skin types, including the darkest Fitzpatrick types, with settings adjusted accordingly.

How it is planned

Surface

Low-energy thulium passes for tone and brightness.

Pore and texture

Refinement of pores and fine lines.

Dermal remodelling

Subdermal heating for collagen over four to six weeks.

Where it is used

  • Face, neck and eyelids
  • Enlarged pores and roughness
  • Post-acne redness and superficial scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Melasma (as part of a plan)

Course and recovery

Numbing cream is applied. Most sessions take 30–45 minutes. Mild redness is usual; in some cases fine scabs appear in treated zones for a few days. All sessions are performed personally by Dr Sin Yong.

What it is not

  • Nothing shrinks a pore. Less visible is achievable; smaller is not.
  • It is not a peel and it is not ablative resurfacing.
  • It is not delegated to a therapist or nurse.
“Nothing shrinks a pore. Less visible is achievable. Smaller is not.”

Questions

How many sessions?
A course is planned after assessment; texture work is usually progressive rather than a single event.
Does it help active acne?
It can calm inflammatory activity and redness as part of a broader plan; it does not replace medical acne treatment.
Is it suitable for dark skin?
Yes, with settings adjusted for the skin type — one of the reasons the protocol was developed.

Assessment first

Whether the FSX Laser suits a face or a body is decided at an in-person assessment with Dr Sin Yong in Singapore. There are no packages, and the honest answer is sometimes a different protocol — or none.
