R2 Glow Laser
A slow protocol rather than a dramatic one: calming the inflammatory drivers of dull, uneven tone so brightness follows as a consequence.

What is the R2 Glow Laser?
The R2 Glow Laser is a skin protocol developed by Dr Sin Yong in Singapore, delivered with Long-pulsed 755 nm alexandrite / 1064 nm Nd:YAG, and used for dull, uneven tone, post-inflammatory redness, melasma-prone skin (as part of a plan) and more.
The R2 Glow Laser works on inflammation rather than on pigment. Calming the inflammatory activity within the skin removes one of the drivers of dull, uneven tone — brightness follows as a consequence rather than being the direct target.
Pigment already deposited is a deposit; inflammation is what keeps producing it. Turning the energy up feels like progress and often triggers rebound, darker than the starting point — which is why R2 Glow is built around progressive, calibrated sessions for Asian skin.
The protocol is frequently sequenced with FSX Laser and T2 Frax Radiance, each addressing a different driver of tone.
How it is planned
Inflammatory activity reduced in the dermis.
Energy set below the rebound threshold for the skin type.
A course of sessions rather than a single high-energy event.
Where it is used
- Dull, uneven tone
- Post-inflammatory redness
- Melasma-prone skin (as part of a plan)
- Rebound pigmentation after aggressive laser elsewhere
Course and recovery
Mild transient redness is usual and recovery varies between patients. A course is planned individually and reviewed session by session.
What it is not
- It is not pigment removal. The two produce brightness by entirely different routes.
- It is not a high-energy, single-session treatment.
- It is not a whitening treatment.
“Turning the energy up feels like progress — and often triggers rebound, darker than the starting point.”

Assessment first
Whether the R2 Glow Laser suits a face or a body is decided at an in-person assessment with Dr Sin Yong in Singapore. There are no packages, and the honest answer is sometimes a different protocol — or none.
