Promising. Decide the plane first; everything else is downstream of that decision. European case series report improvement in submental fullness, jowls, lower-eyelid bags and small body areas with a single session.
- Verdict
- Promising Plausible mechanism and early evidence. Reasonable to try with realistic expectations.
- Evidence base
- 3 PubMed-indexed studies cited below, including systematic reviews.
- Suits
- Small, localised fat pockets with mild skin laxity — under the chin, jowls, selected eye bags — in patients who accept a minimally invasive procedure.
- Not for
- Significant laxity, large volumes, or anyone wanting a non-invasive option. Thin faces where fat loss would read as ageing.
- In Singapore
- Available in a small number of Singapore clinics; confirm HSA registration of the specific system with the provider.

What it is
A hair-thin optical fibre is passed under the skin through a needle entry point, delivering 1470 nm laser energy to heat fat and the fibrous septa from inside, reducing small fat deposits and tightening the overlying skin in one procedure.
How it works
The wavelength is absorbed by water and fat. Moving the fibre through the subcutaneous plane coagulates small fat volumes and heats the dermis from beneath, producing contraction. It is performed under local anaesthesia with no incision beyond the needle entry.
What the evidence says
European case series report improvement in submental fullness, jowls, lower-eyelid bags and small body areas with a single session. Independent controlled data are limited and operator dependence is high; too much energy in thin areas causes burns, nodules or contour irregularity.

What the studies show
- systematic review
Case series reported improvement in jowls, submental fat, eye bags and laxity, but the review found no controlled studies and called for larger trials with control groups.
The Endo-lift Laser (Intralesional 1470 nm Diode Laser) for Dermatological Aesthetic Conditions: A Systematic Review. — Aesthetic Plast Surg, 2024. PMID 38886198.
- systematic review
The available evidence was judged low in quality, consisting mainly of small single-centre series with short follow-up.
Endolift® is a non-surgical treatment for skin tissue conditions. Is there evidence for its application? — Lasers Med Sci, 2025. PMID 39827299.
- case series
A single-centre series reported reduced jowl fat and improved skin measurements six months after one session, without a comparison group.

| What it is | A hair-thin optical fibre is passed under the skin through a needle entry point, delivering 1470 nm laser energy to heat fat and the fibrous septa from inside, reducing small fat deposits and tightening the overlying skin in one procedure. | Absorbable barbed or cogged threads inserted under the skin with a cannula, anchored to reposition descended tissue toward where it used to sit. | High-intensity focused ultrasound delivers heat to precise points at set depths — commonly 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mm — creating coagulation points in the dermis and the SMAS layer that contract and stimulate collagen over months. |

| Suits | Small, localised fat pockets with mild skin laxity — under the chin, jowls, selected eye bags — in patients who accept a minimally invasive procedure. | Mild to moderate descent with reasonable skin quality, people wanting a visible repositioning without surgery. | Mild to moderate laxity with reasonable skin thickness, people who want a structural effect without injectables. |
| In one line | Decide the plane first; everything else is downstream of that decision. | Lifting restores position, not volume; mistake one for the other and a face looks pulled. | HIFU or radiofrequency is the wrong question — they do not do the same job, which is why 3D Facial Reconstruction uses both. |
Risks
Swelling, bruising, numbness, small burns or nodules, and contour irregularity with poor technique.
